Holiday Tips


With the December holidays around the corner, it is important to check if your vehicle is in optimum condition before setting off on your journey. To have the best possible chance at a trouble-free holiday we recommend:
  • Have your vehicle serviced properly before embarking on your journey
  • Check all fluid levels
  • Check the fuses and globes of your indicator, tail lights and headlights
  • Check that your wiper blades are in good working order
  • Check your tyres for uneven tread wear. Replace if worn
Have the following items in the boot of your car:
  • A spare wheel
  • A fire extinguisher
  • A jack
  • A tow rope
  • A first aid kit
  • A wheel spanner
  • A torch
  • A warning triangle so that you can warn oncoming vehicles of your position
  • A visibility vest so that you are clearly visible should you be standing on the side of the road
Stay alert and awake by taking regular breaks. Experts recommend resting for 15 minutes after every 2 hours of driving.

Maintain a safe following distance.

Don't speed.

Buckle up.

Don't drink and drive.
